Leer másRead moreEsta casa se ubica en el área urbana de la ciudad de Montería en la zona costera de Colombia. Se concibió originalmente como complemento a una residencia ya existente en la otra mitad del terreno que ocupa un cuarto de manzana urbana. El tema fue siempre el de integrar las dos viviendas a través de una zona paisajística creada hacia el interior. No obstante, debía mantenerse la privacidad individual de cada uno de los predios.
El esquema en forma de “U” hacia el interior resulto ser el más propicio para desarrollar el programa de 500 m2. una nave abierta , transversal que contiene la zona social, recibe dos naves más cerradas longitudinales que alojan a, a un lado las alcobas y al otro lado el área de servicios.
This single-family home was designed to embrace nature within the urban block. The commission called for integrating an existing house’s back yard and pool to the new residence. Therefore, the design started developing from the inside out. A secondary courtyard with a simple and shallow water fixture was created as the foreground for the dense and green tropical landscape that links the two houses together. 5,300 sq ft is the total construction area of the project and both the service and private functions converge into a double story height living/dining space which is open to the inner and side yards allowing for passive ventilation to occur. Off the living room, a series of tilted columns resembling palm trees, march along with a ramp that leads to 4 bedrooms on the upper level only 5 feet up.
